Below grade pit located onsite and it appeared to have more than the 2 feet of lined freeboard. 1) Observed that the filter fabric fence BMP had not been installed properly. Specifically it had not been trenched in, the flapped had been folded under and soil was placed on top of the fence. 2) Mud had been transported out onto Fort Run Road during the removal of the drilling equipment from the site. The operator had a contractor onsite and work had begun to remove the mud from Fort Run Road.
1796611 2009-05-08 No Violations Noted Drilling appeared to have been completed at the time of the inspection. Below grade pit located onsite and it appeared to have more than the 2 feet of lined freeboard.

The mud which had been transported onto Fort Run Road had been removed and cleaned up and the operator had implemented additional rock on the access road and part of the well pad. In addition the operator was having the fluid emptied from the below-grade pit to insure that the fluid level did not rise above the 2 feet of lined freeboard.

Site had been properly restored, vegetative cover met the 70% uniform coverage criteria and there was no observed accelerated erosion or sedimentation in relation to the site or access road. It was noted that there was no visible well tag found on the well apparatus. The Department requests that the operator have the well properly tagged and forward documentation that this has been completed no later than December 16, 2012. This documentation should be sent to the attention of Water Quality Specialist Gregory Higgins at the above address.
