2017983 2011-11-08 No Violations Noted At the time of inspection well sign and Es plan present. Noted ES plan revised 08/28/11. Well actively being drilled, spudded for 11/07/11. Well site located 179ft from CW/TSF, operator placed bmp's(hay reinforced filter fence) 100ft away from stream. Pad and access road adequately rocked, no accelerated ES issues noted; although it is recommended that operator rock line road side ditches in order to prevent a possible pollution event. One below grade pit located onsite surrounding by orange security fence. Noted that pit liner does not appear reinforced uniformly with backfill, therefore, spoke with Kriebel Rep Mark Hopkins, who planned to address the issue. As stated in ES plan, Operator plans to dispose of drill cuttings onsite according to regulation. Adequate freeboard maintained at the time of this inspection. No IW issues noted during this inspection.
2020377 2011-11-17 No Violations Noted E&S controls and well sign was present. No freeboard or E&S issues at the time of inspection. Kriebel was in the process of running a wire line on the well. Pit was being filled with fresh water. DEP noted foam in stream adjacent to pad. Called Mark Hopkins and he stated all drilling fluids were hauled to away for disposal. DEP also noted that upstream of site was an AMD project.
2020383 2011-11-08 No Violations Noted Kriebel had contracted U.S. Energy. E&S controls and well sign was present. No freeboard or E&S issues at the time of inspection. Conductor pipe was installed to 39 feet (13¿ pipe) and sanded in. Surface pipe was installed to 422 feet (9 5/8¿ pipe). Surface pipe was cemented with 300 sks of Class A with 12 bbls return. Water was encountered at 50¿and 340 feet. Gas odor recorded at 1885 ft. Coal bearing zone was noted at 110 ft. and 192 ft. U.S. Energy was at 1895 feet and anticipated depth is 4906 feet.
