2238465 2014-01-23 Pending On 1/21/14, Andy Mehalko reported the following incident: On 1/20/14 at approximately 10:00 AM a release of approximately 5-6 gallons of glycol solution was identified at the Pritchard 1H well. Due to an issue with the thermostat on the GPU, the burner unit overheated the glycol solution causing it to flow, as designed, into the adjacent overflow tank. At this point, due to the volume and temperature of the fluid transferred, it escaped the primary overflow tank and was captured by the secondary containment system consisting of an overpack type drum. Unfortunately, the drain valve at the bottom of the overpack drum was not fully seated allowing a portion of the fluid to migrate to the pad surface.
