1402654221 | 2014-06-12 | Production Wells | No Violations | I was called out by Washington County Inspector, Andy Thomas, to go to a potential oil spill at this well. Rob Armstrong, the contractor servicing this well, had called Inspector Thomas to say they were pulling tubing and the well was starting to unload. This well is approximately 20 from Archers Fork Run and there was concer about oil getting into the stream. Inspector Thomas had instructed them to shut down, get a back-hoe and dig a pit, line the pit with plastic and then carefully pull the tubing. When I arrived, the absorbent pads were on site but the crew was gone getting the backhoe. I went back to view the well and found only about a cup of oil on the ground around the well and stream had not been impacted. This well was equipped with 2 diameter tubing and also 1 diameter tubing on a gas escape packer. The 1 diameter tubing had already been pulled when I arrived. I remained on location until they started pulling the 2 diameter tubing. |
