| A landowner complaint was received alleging that Columbia Gas Transmission has buried pollution and contamination (P&C) inside drilling pits.  The landowner states that gray sludge material is P&C.  An inspection conducted with Mr. Dan Goins revealed blow pit/air pit is being dug out.  Columbia Gas is performing work prior to 5 month deadline for pit abandonment.  Columbia Engineer Mr. Brent Crysor, states that only 15% of this pit had been buried with cuttings.  The gray sludge was gray shale material.  Fluid hauled and the remaining 85% had been removed and hauled to landfill.  Further, the mud pit had been dug down to dirt, liner removed and filled.  FERC has instructed Columbia to dig out pit.  The well site contains silt fencing for erosion control, gravel access road with culverts.  No violations were noted.
