| My inspection this day is due to a complaint by John Enos, landowner, of a well very near their barn in Sec. 4 leaking gas.  My records show it is #1091 and was drilled in 1969 - Eastern Operating filed for a plugging permit in 1973 but no records have been found for the plugging.  Since then, a new barn has been built and the well, cut off at ground level, lays 2 from the support beam post for the barn outside  the fence around the barn.  John Enos said he purchased the property in 1978 and was told the well had been plugged.  The well has 8 5/8 OD surface casing and 11.5 OD conductor casing visible at the surface and the area in and outside the casing is leaking gas.  There is a slight  gas odor present as you approach the well.  This day, the well was buried in cow manure and had to be dug out to locate.  The well will need cleaned out to bottom and plugged.  It will be very costly to plug due to access - part of the barn may need to be removed to get a rig over the well.  There is a house 325 east of the barn with a water well drilled behind the house (no record found) at N40.07260, W -81.59939, currently in use.  SEM is 178,  pictures taken.  There are 3 wells on the Enos property but this one is a higher priority, due to the location and the leaking gas.

1389020573 2013-10-09 Orphan No Violations My inspection this day is due to a complaint by John Enos, landowner, of a well very near their barn in Sec.
