| During the plugging operation a fire occurred and ignited the pit. While pumping cement grout into an idle and orphan well.  Gas and liquid from the well, including brine and crude oil were displaced into the pit.  The drillers helper decided to shut off  the support truck located adjacent to the rig. This vehicle backfired and ignited the accumulated natural gas in the vicinity of the well and pit.  The driller immediately stopped the plugging activity and began fire fighting actions.  A partially  vac truck with fresh water was on site.  The water was used to manage the flames in the vicinity of the well.  When the fresh water supply was exhausted, the driller used the front end loader to smother the fire with dirt  in the trench and pit.  This action contained the fire to the pit.  Emergency 911 was contacted by the State inspector.  The Madison Township / Gibsonburg Fire department Responded and was on site.  The driller used the dozer to create a berm around the pit and closed the pit and smothered the fire.  Upon extinguishing the fire the plugging activities commenced and completed the plugging operation.
