Keno No. 2 was drilled in 1951 by Keno Oils Limited after the success of Keno No. 1.[1] The well is located just south of Calmar, in what is now technically Leduc County land. Though it was located very close to its predecessor, Keno No. 2 had no recorded production and the well was abandoned in 1959. The ownership of the well changed hands several times in the ensuing years. The well came to be owned by Legal Oil & Gas Ltd., until the company’s demise in bankruptcy in 2001.[2] It is currently privately owned by Richard Marquart. Keno No. 2 was never remediated, and its current status is RecExempt.
