| Wellhead is a Pumping Unit.  From the ground surface 4-1/4 inch casing rises above the ground to a t-fitting.  Rising above this fitting is 1-7/8 inch production tubing which rises into another t-fitting and then vertically into the stuffing box.  The packers in the stuffing box were leaking.  According to 1501:9-9-05(A)1/1509:20, owner shall repair or replace equipment to prevent the escape of oil and/or gas. Apparently it just happened before I showed up at this location because of the extent of oil contamination around the wellhead, estimated at two gallons.  The well tender, Bob Duncan for Star Oil, shut the unit down before it got any worse.  It will remain shut down until he fixes it next week.  The leaking oil was contained around the wellhead.  The well tender will use fertilizing amendments to bioremediate the oil-stained ground.  He also had the wrong identification number on the well, identifying it as the Stover #3.  It should have been the Stover # 1.  He corrected it while I was there on location.  The Stover #3 was across  and on the west side of Campaign Creek.  This well had the Stover #1 identification. According to 1501:9-9-05(A)10/1509:23 the well identification sign shall include owner's name, county, township, well name and number, permit number for the well, and emergency contact number.  He also changed any identification issues on the tank battery.  The tank battery consisted of one 100-barrel steel tank, one tall liquid/gas separator and one 1100-gallon poly tank.
