| Orphan
| My inspection this day, with Inspector Andy Thomas, was to assess this orphan well and start the process to enter it into the Orphan Well Program. This well consists of wood conductor which is partially rotted away, making it difficult to determine the size.   The 6.5 OD metal casing in the well was 4' above ground but has completely broken off and is laying on the ground next to the well. There is a well head on this casing.    Most of the hole is filled in with dirt inside the wood casing but there is a fair gas odor coming from the hole that can be smelled 10' away.  It has been many years since the well producedAccess to the well begins at the end of Taylor Rd. and crosses Mr. Huddleston's ground to get to the well.  Without permission, we will have to come up from the St. Rt. 7 side and this is very steepTime spent including preparing of the paper file.  Pictures taken, SEM is 168.
