+ | | MH Oil Field Service on site at 8:20 AM. The brought a excavator, welder, torches, casing extensions and hand tools. The removed two 4 inch diameter trees. After removing the trees, they excavated the 8.62 inch diameter casing to determine where it could be cut off. The cut the casing off 2 feet below grade. After cutting the casing off, they found tubing that was about 2 feet below the cut off casing. This tubing did not have structural integrity. I contacted ODNR project manager Mr. Kris Rozer to inform him the excavation would need to be about 10 deep to access viable tubing. This will need to be done to bring the tubing above grade for future plugging. It was decided to add a extension to the cut off 8.62 inch casing and bring the casing above grade. This was done and the casing extension was capped with a swage. The excavation was backfilled to make the site safe. This work will continue at a later date.

There is a small amount of gas emanating from the plastic line. The conductor casing is full of water. No other casing or tubing is visible. Records indicate 20 of 6 casing and 800 of 5 casing. I met with Vinton County School facility manager John Zinn. John was agreeable to having the well plugged and would give a rite of entry if needed.
