Steve Catalfamo, Cabot EHS Specialist explained that on 7/8/18 at approximately 1620 hours a GDS vac truck was removing produced fluid from the production tanks when a malfunction caused the release of the produced fluid. Photo #2 shows the area where the spill occurred and remediation took place, as evidenced by the new gravel present. GDS conducted an initial cleanup of the material. The following day, Resource Environmental was brought in to characterize the spill. Field screening conducted by resource led to additional soil excavation. Total amount of soil removed for disposal filled 4 drums. The final excavation was approximately 8' by 15' by 4". A remediation summary report will be submitted to the Department for review. |
