0306255610 | 2016-11-18 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I arrived on site to find they were able to attach the overshot to what they believed was 1.5 inch tubing. They made several attempts to pull the tubing string but it was hung in the production casing. The transmission began to overheat to the point they could not pull any tension on the tubing string. I then left the site. |
0405118391 | 2018-02-07 | Production Wells | No Violations | I inspected this producing well as a follow-up to Chiefs Order #14-133, dated May 15, 2014 which had directed the owner to plug the well within 30 days of the date of the Order. At the time of this inspection, I noted the following. The service rig that had been positioned at the well for plugging activity remained at the site. There was no longer tubing left in the slips. The site otherwise appeared unchanged, with pipe trailer and tracked dozer left on site. I contacted contractor Charles Mosio who reported that no work had taken place since the tubing had become hung in the hole in the early fall of 2017. He reports that in addition to the stuck tubing, mechanical problems with the rig have delayed completion of the plugging and abandonment. He did not have an estimate on when the work would resume. |

They were unable to recover any tubing from the well. They replaced the jaws in the overshot and then run back into the well with the overshot on the two inch tubing. They were able to attach the overshot onto the lost tubing only to find it was still hung in the well. They pulled tension on the tubing and then set it in the tubing slips. They left tension on the tubing and left the site. |
