0944277008 | 2016-02-08 | Production Wells | No Violations | I received a call from Ralph Gregory, whose home is located 400 from this well, requesting an inspection of this well due to banging and screeching noises emanating from the pumping unit when the well is operating. I inspected the well and found it actively producing with the aid of an electric pumping unit. The pony rod above the carrier bar and polished rod is banging off of the horsehead on the units upstroke. The rods are pulling tight and causing a slight upward movement of the units base and amplifying the problem. Also, there is no clearance between the pumping units belt guard and crank arm which is causing a slight noise during operation. The wellhead and unit are fenced, the man door is locked, and the proper ID is posted at the wellhead. This well produces to a tank battery to the east containing one (1) 210 barrel tank, a 35 barrel poly tank, and a horizontal separator. The tank battery is diked, fenced, and locked. Valves on the 210 barrel tank are fitted with locks and the proper ID is posted. I spoke with the Field Supervisor for Alliance Petroleum about the noise issues at the pumping unit and he said he will have someone fix the issues. I will check back later to see if the issues are resolved. |
