-15 casing - rocks piled inside well bore. No information as to whether well has been plugged or not. Was originally on ground and creek has changed course. Located on USA-Ruble, Wayne Natl. Forest ground and will complete referral.

0161478911 2010-06-14 Orphan No Violations Talked to Charles Cook. He says is willing to sign Right of Entry to plug well on his ground. Will show us best way to get in, tell us what he knows. Says land should up as Cady, well probably drilled @ 1900, plugged @1930.
0493552938 2008-07-14 Orphan No Violations Inspection this day found old wooden casing sticking up in middle of Upper Archer Fork creek with gas bubbling all around it. Water probably not more than a foot deep and casing about 6 above water -
1598846623 2009-05-27 Administrative Inspection No Violations Inspection this day to write up idle/orphan request - looked and did not find well. Maybe silt/downed tree has covered up. Called Chuck Cook, landowner to the south and he knew about the well - confirmed that well on USA/Ruble - just over the line. Says his mother (and Mr. Cook is in his 80s) told how it was drilled and plugged - says was on the river bank then, that they pulled casing and called it plugged - may have clay in it but he remembers it leaking gas, as it still is. Must have been drilled in the 19101920s and plugged around then, in 2nd Salt Sand at about 1000. Had drilled some really good oil wells in this zone and was looking for oil but got good gas - all the wells in the area have same good gas zone, he says. He does not believe any of the Rubles still live around here - may be hard to find.
1915703116 2016-10-20 Orphan No Violations My inspection this day with Michele Miller, Program Administrator for the Orphan Well Program, found this well now located on dry land but still in the bottom of the creek bed. Over 10 years, the creek has moved considerably and what was once a deep pocket of water on the west bank is now a silty sand bar off the east side of the creek where the well is located. The wooden casing is 18 outside diameter with the center of the hole filled in with rocks and other creek debris. Grass is growing inside the well casing and gas odor is noted around the outside of the wooden casing. After researching access to the well from both sides of the creek, it is believed the best route to be off of County Road 9 about 1000 northeast of the well on Wayne National Forest property. Permission to use this access will be obtained from the forest service. There is overhead electric that crosses the property but it should not be a hazard. Pictures taken.
