1209145719 2008-04-14 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations This morning, Poulson Drilling was drilling ahead on air/soap mixture. At 15:15 they encountered a flow of natural gas and oil from the Newburg porosity zone at a depth of 3777 feet. The gas odor was detectable at the KSU recreation center located approximtely 800 feet to the east, which on this day was downwind. Once made aware of the problem, the rig immediately started to load the hole with salt water and continued drilling with fluid. The fluid drilling system controlled gas flow to the surface and the drilling continued without incident.
