| 2025385657 | 2018-07-23 | Production Wells | Violations Noted | I received a request from my regional supervisor Mr. Dan Goins to inspect this well. The well consists of a wellhead with tubing. The tubing has a tee plumbed in at the top of the tubing. Two lines are connected to the tee fitting. The plastic 1 inch diameter line with the valve open is plumbed into a separator. The fluid from the separator is plumbed into a plastic poly tank. The separator and poly tank are surrounded by a dike. On the other side of the tee fitting is a steel line with the valve closed. The problem was the fitting at the tank sprung a leak and leaked brine into the dike. It was reported as a gas leak. I checked the ditch line that runs below the dike using high range quantabs. I obtained a reading of 2000 ppm on average. I left the area to obtain cell service and called well owner R H Penick Co to have the leak repaired. The owner of the well, Mr. Jim Newmyer said the spill would be cleaned up on 7.24.18. |
