| 1092766438 | 2004-08-17 | Production Wells | No Violations | This is one of two wells located near the north branch of the Portage River on SR 105. It appears that the wells are being produced. Vegetation in field to this well was flat from vehicle traffic. There was a powerhouse adjacent to this shackleline operation well. The area around the well and tank had a strong odor of oil/gas. There is a metal storage tank near this well which appears to be used, but seemed to be empty at this time. Of most concern is an old wooded tank less than 10 feet from SR 105 and 10 feet from the top of the river bank. This tank does not appear to be used. The tank is in poor condition but did not appear to be leaking at this time. Could not locate landowner at time of inspection. Pictures taken.
UPDATE: Spoke to Chris Neiset by phone on 8/26/04. He indicated that he is producing the wells.Chris agreed to add the 2 wells to his bond list. Inspector will provide Chris with permit numbers so IDs can be posted at well head for each well. He will also remove the old wooden tank next to the river. Chris said there was nothing in the tank. He will try to remove the tank before summer 2005. As long as items listed in report are corrected, no NOV will be written. |
