1369082100 | 2013-05-20 | The unit is a reported orphan well in the backyard of the current homeowner. The well consists of a 6-inch diameter casing with a 12-inch square, 4-bolt flanged lid and some additional valves and lines which are very rusty. The wellhead is enclosed in a subsurface cement and masonry vault. The vault dimensions are 24 inches by 28 inches and the top of the well lid is 12 inches below grade. At the time of my inspection, the vault was partially filled with water, and the wellhead was submerged. Gas was bubbling from the around the flange continuously. A makeshift lid fashioned from 1/4-inch steel plate was covering the well. |
