-2060506812 2003-11-18 Spoke with landowner Mr. Meier re: I&O program. Well is not in production. Insp. At request of Central Office w/ J Fry.
1172211427 2012-11-30 Mr. Nathan Miller requested an inspection of this well and a potential second orphan that was later determined to be an old water well at N 40.32183 W082.46046. Please refer to the "90001" report for details on water well. At time of inspection, Mr. Miller was in contract to purchase this 10 acre tract of land from Ms. Mary Meier. During the inspection, it was noted that the well was idle with no attached production lines. The well consisted of 7" casing equipped with a wellhead (bull plugs installed), and 4.5" casing that contained a 4x2 swage and gate valve. Gas was smelled and appeared to contain a leak at the valve, but never detected with the meter. The well was situated on a property designated as agricultural field. Mr. Miller expressed interest in utilizing the gas from this well. The Division's Well ownership registration and requirements were discussed at length during and after the inspection with Mr. Miller. At time of the inspection, this well did not meet the criteria for Exempt Domestic Well Ownership, as no residential dwelling existed on this tract of land. Mr. Miller stated that he would not reside on this tract and planned to build for commercial purposes.
