1179935996 2011-09-22 Inspection this day due to landowner, Mrs. Bailes, calling to report a release at the tank battery. Upon inspection, I found that the production tank leaked, either from a hole or a faulty valve, releasing brine and oil on the ground. The tank battery sits out on a point so everything ran downhill. The dike, which was breached, could not hold fluids. The affected area is @ 100' long and 20' wide. The posted well identification has no information other than two phone numbers that are incorrect for the company. The well, which is fenced and equipped with a pumping unit, has been shut down. The operator needs to remove damaged tank, remove and properly dispose of impacted soil, spread lime and correctly construct the tank containment. They also need to post proper well identification and to report 2010 annual production. I notified the well owner that clean-up needed to start in next several days and to contact me with further questions. 10/11/11 - Inspection found spill has been cleaned up and proper identification was posted. I will wait for grass to grow to resolve. 11/23/11 - RESOLVED - location has been reclaimed, grass is growing and the dike has been repaired. 9-1-07

Dike has been built up, no longer a breach, and now has good ID's with correct information up at thank. Looks like seed has been spread, area covered with straw so will wait to see if grass grows before clearing violation.
