1381323351 2013-10-08 I was notified by Ken Folsom of Geauga County Emergency Services of a well leaking gas and crude oil. I arrived on location to find the Middlefield Fire Department and Jim Stanley from Petrox working to clean up the oil. There appears to be about 5 BBL's of oil that had escaped from a flow line that had rusted through. The well had been shut in and the line was not flowing any more oil from it. The crew used absorbent mats to clean up the oil. In the morning petrox will have the oil saturated soil removed and replace it with new soil.
1382206832 2013-10-18 My inspection found that the soil that was contaminated with oil had been removed. New soil was brought in to replace the contaminated soil. The area has been seeded and strawed. No violations found.
