2053022456 2009-03-17 Inspection was requested by Rich Jones USFS Lands Program Manager. He wanted to confirm this well's status. Well has no identification. An ORV trail is located 10 feet from the well. 9 5/8" casing is above ground and has 7" casing inside it. The 7" casing has a 7" collar and is open and full of water. I probed inside the 7" casing with a stick and hit obstacles at 12" down. The obstacles felt uneven. Occasional bubbles were observed during the inspection on the back side of the 7" inside the 9 5/8" casing. Gas meter did not register any gas. A Quantab of the water with in the 7" casing showed no Cl levels. A Quantab of the water inside the 9 5/8" casing showed no Cl levels. No production lines or equipment were observed during inspection. Well card shows well Abandoned 5-11-77. A search through the scanned images for this well revealed a Surface casing cement report 4-8-77 stating 1380 feet of 7" casing cemented to surface. A plug report was found dated 5-11-77 that stated the well was plugged and abandoned. The reason for the casing remaining at surface cannot be determined based on the information contained in the plug report.
