-155728156 | 2013-12-16 | I was escorted onto the Marathon Canton Refinery to perform an inspection and update GPS of their storage well for their asphalt processing center. The well was drilled to the Salina Dolomite and is used as a butane storage well for the refinery. They will inject butane into the well and then use brine injection on the outside of the production casing to bring the butane back to surface. The well has many safeguards and monitoring systems on location. Only intrinsically safe electronics are allowed near the wellhead and the well annuli are monitored by the asphalt processing office. There are no violations of this well. |
