237733137 2013-02-27 Wellhead consists of surface casing, 8-5/8 inch, with a swedge fitting, 5-1/2 inch to 2-inch, probably onto of 5-1/2 casing not shown at surface rising 6-inches above the surface casing top. The 2-inch end of the swedge has a wooden plug and gas is leaking out at the edge of this plug and swedge wall. The PhD6 gas meter detected methane, CH4, gas, and 18% LEL. The wellhead is in the middle of a pool of water. This water was tested for chlorides using Quantab's 30-600 ppm range detection stick. No response was measured on the stick after the indicator band at the top of the stick turned black. The owner shall repair or replace the faulty equipment on the well to correct the problem.
