263711393 2009-06-09 An inspection of the property was conducted with the landowner, and Mr. Robert Stonerock, South Region Oil & Gas District Supervisor. As previously noted, on 5/5/2009, oil field debris remains on property from 1973. Verified that the well was plugged. 8 casing was found not cut 30 below grade with tree stump placed inside. The stump was pulled and solid material was observed inside casing approximately 10' down. The landowner agreed to remove oil field debris, top off the well with fireclay and cut casing below grade.
942162656 2009-05-05 Central Office requested a field review of the final restoration. Records show that the well was plugged on 11/7/1973. An inspection of the property revealed that the final restoration does not meet ORC 1509.072. Several sections of plastic and steel line were observed above ground in both wooded and non-wooded areas. Exposed cable was also observed above the ground near the plugged and abandoned well location per coordinates. Around the location, pieces of old metal were also found. A nearby producing well, Permit No. 2605 was observed south of the location. The well owner was contacted by telephone to verify the flowline from this well. The well owner confirmed that the observed line and debris is not from this well.
