1330205664 2011-07-27 Inspection this day found cable tool rig was only to 60', still drilling surface hole. Very slow going.
1342646474 2012-07-18 My inspection this day due to call that they were back drilling well with cable tool rig. Have just started up after taking off the winter. Rig at 585' with plans to drill 24 hr/day until thru the cave and red rock. Will run 7 casing at that point which may be left in or removed when total depth reached, planning for 1200'. Drilling pit is sufficient.
1409053942 2014-08-25 Upon inspection, it was observed that the preliminary restoration for this well has not been performed. The cable tool rig used for drilling the is still standing over it. The drilling pit for the well is still open and has been overflowing during rain events. The well consists of a 7 surface casing and a swedge to a 2 gate valve. I spoke with Mr. Roger Eddy of Elk Oil Co LLC in person and inquired about the situation. He stated that he is waiting for Leonard Hamilton to shoot the well, but Mr. Hamilton never has time to do so. I told him there are other companies who shoot wells in the area who would be more available. Mr. Eddy agreed to contact another company this fall to complete the well and to perform the preliminary restoration. Mr. Eddy also agreed to address the drilling pit leakage immediately. The rig and the pit will be needed to clean out the well after it is shot. I will continue to monitor this situation. Pictures were taken of the location.
-1496960096 2011-06-24 Inspection this day found cable tool rig on location, had started about a week ago and now 38' deep in sandstone - hard. Pit is lined and looks capable of handling the fluids, permit on location.
680720453 2014-12-04 On location to witness the open hole shooting of this well. JT Wireline Services was on location and rigging up a charge of 360 lbs of 80% nitro-glycerine gelled shot. The charge was lowered into the hole to 1700' and the hole was loaded with fresh water. The charge was detonated, however no fluids were forced from the well, indicating that it may have bridged from the force of the explosion in the open hole area above the fluid column. Expansion gases escaped from the well slowly. Mr. Roger Eddy of Elk Oil Co. will use his cable tool rig to clean the well out over the coming weeks.
-852384876 2012-08-23 The cable tool rig is back drilling and I found crew at 925' this day. Drill pit was satisfactory and permit out on rig. I stayed and talked to operator about the new rules in effect now and how they would affect and be applied to their operations.
-896115829 2011-04-13 Met with Roger Eddy to discuss new requirements for cable tool hole - discussed methods for completion.
