2562099 | Primary Facility | 2017-02-08 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | It is apparent that fluid from the (2) Clean Harbors centrifuges located in the single centrifuge stand is deposited into a half round container in the backyard. Solids from the centrifuges in separate stands are deposited into a separate half round container beneath the stand containing (1) centrifuge. This is a different setup compared to Nomac 74. Mr. Holick stated that the fluid is deposited into the centrifuge and solids are separated from the drilling fluids/mud in the centrifuges and transferred to the Strad Energy vertical tanks labeled Reuse and Processed water. There are a total of (2) reuse and processed water tanks and (4) tanks used to oil based mud in a tank farm near the pad entrance. An employee from Clean Harbors informed me that polymer is used as flocculant in the dewatering process, calcium nitrate is used for solids control and citric acid is used to adjust the pH. These chemicals are added prior to centrifuging. I left the site at 14:45.
