2195253 Primary Facility 2013-07-03 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted On July 3, 2013, I stopped at Chesapeake’s Michael McNicholas site for a routine inspection. Chesapeake has drilled one well, 8H, but it is not yet in production.
2249043 Primary Facility 2014-02-27 Incident- Response to Accident or Event No Violations Noted On Saturday, February 22, 2014, I received a phone call from Mark Deering of Chesapeake reporting that a citizen living near Chesapeake’s McNicholas site suffered an explosion and small fire at the well house at his home.
2648958 Primary Facility 2017-10-18 Site Restoration No Violations Noted On October 18, 2017, the Department performed an inspection of the Rice Energy Michael McNicholas well pad site. The site is located in Springhill Twp., Greene Co. The inspection was a restoration inspection related to a request by the operator to terminate the ESCGP1 permit.

The well pad and access road are in good condition. The site has been restored to production condition. The site is stable with greater than 70% vegetative cover. Given the current condition of the site at time of inspection the Department recommends termination of the ESCGP1 permit.

One well has been drilled to completion and is equipped for production on the well pad.

2678562 Primary Facility 2017-12-28 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted Site is snow covered. Site ok. Well is properly identified and equipped for production.
