0515917449 | 2015-04-18 | Production Wells | No Violations | At 9:05 am I received a telephone call from John Schneider, Stonebridge Production Superintendent, stating that a the tank was overfilled causing four to ten barrels of crude oil to be released into the tank dike. Upon arrival, my investigation found that at 4:30am the well tender, George McAtee, discovered the tank was overfilled as a result of leaving the electric motor on at the pumping unit. The tank battery is comprised of two 100 barrel tanks, a separator and a meter set inside of an earthen dike. All oil is contained in the earthen dike, which is made from predominantly clay soil. The spill covers an area inside the dike 10 X 54 I would estimate the volume at eight to ten barrels. Stonebridge responded with four personnel and a vac. truck. |
0690010592 | 2015-05-29 | Production Wells | No Violations | Upon inspection, it was observed that the brine kill area has been scraped off, limed/fertilized, seeded, and mulched. Cattle in the field are no longer attracted to the affected area. All free oil product has been removed from the tank battery area. The cleanup can now be considered complete. |
0766583832 | 2015-04-22 | Production Wells | No Violations | Follow up to tank battery oil spill: Upon inspection, it was observed that the majority of the free product has been removed from the tank pad and none of the free product appears to have made it beyond the earthen dike. The 4 drain in the tank battery has been extended upward with a standpipe and plugged at the effluent to prevent any discharge. John Schneider of Stonebridge stated that cleanup efforts will continue with oil absorbent pads and soil removal as necessary by shovel until no more oil product is present in tank pad. New photos were taken. |
1082874996 | 2007-10-25 | Production Wells | No Violations | Inspection this day found well producing with jack, pumping this day, tanks have been redone - lightning had hit tank and well down for some time but all going now, tanks have good IDs, good dike, current chart in meter. |

1995687540 | 2015-05-05 | Production Wells | No Violations | Upon inspection, it was observed that the majority of the free product has been removed from the tank battery location. Some oily soil still remains with oil absorbent pads present to soak up product as the sun cooks it out of the soil. A fence has been installed around the tank battery to keep the landowners cattle out. Two brine kill patches approximately 8x30 each are present originating from the dike wall and extending south. I contacted Mr. John Schneider and notified him of the kill area and he stated that he was aware of it and his crew will be scraping the contaminated soil off, liming/fertilizing the soil, and re-seeding it. I will continue to monitor the location until the remediation is complete. |
