2572403 Primary Facility 2017-03-17 Incident- Response to Accident or Event Pending On 06MAR2017, the operator reported a spill of hydraulic fluid; approximately 30 gallons had made contact with the ground along the access road. The driveshaft pf a vehicle separated causing the hydraulic line valve to fail and release the fluid.
Personnel on site were able to respond to the incident immediately to absorb and contain the spilled fluid. The leak was secured and the disabled vehicle was moved with containment measures to prevent residual fluid from making contact with the ground.
~12 tons of potentially impacted material was removed for disposal. The material will be shipped via railroad to the Tunnel Hill Reclamation Facility, OH. Following removal the excavated area was visually inspected for evidence of residual fluid and then clean fill was applied.
Mike Deming provided a follow-report providing further details and description of actions taken by the operator to remediate issue.
2599094 Primary Facility 2017-05-26 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted Please contact me if you have any questions.
