This was the second release of British Columbia oil and gas data on Wellwiki. All the data for this upgrade came from the BC Oil and Gas Commission website [1]. We have used four different datasets from this website to fetch the data.
• Wells.csv
• Well_index.csv
• zone_prod.csv
• w_status.csv
We used Statistics Canada's 2019 Census Boundary Files to map each well, to their respective unincorporated division and, where applicable, incorporated subdivision.
Overall, this upgrade resulted in the generation of 34,540 new or modified British Columbia Well Pages; 344 new or modified British Columbia Operator Pages; 31 new or modified British Columbia Municipality Pages and 18 new or modified British Columbia County Pages. The team for this project consisted of Joel Gehman, Cole Miller, and Georgio Cheruvelil. Financial support and in-kind support for this project was provided by the University of Alberta School of Business.
