-603359174 2014-04-11 This well is not producing. There is a hole in the 7" casing on the N side. The tubing is holed as well. The landowner saw the well flow saltwater when he was plowing his field. The well flows gas and brine at unpredictable intervals. There is a 6'x3' puddle of briny water on the N side of the well. This is a Berea well. The owner is defunct. An orphan well complaint and matrix was filled out on this well and this information was turned over to the acting Tuscarawas County inspector for follow-up.
1397831656 2014-04-15 On the day of my inspection I was accompanied by District Supervisor Brent Bear. Arriving on location we found the well idle. The well has severe corrosion to the casing and the tubing, pieces of the casing and tubing are missing. While on location the well blew saltwater out and on to the ground, an area of about 3 foot by 5 foot was impacted. The well is not equiped to control the flow of gas or fluids. Quantab high range were used to test for chlorides, the test was stopped at 7.8 units or 3420 ppm chlorides. This inspection is the follow up for complaint # 4657. Well needs to be plugged.
