0610856307 2013-10-17 Orphan No Violations An inspection of this orphan well revealed two threaded joints of 8.56 outside diameter drive pipe for a total measurement of 4 above ground level. The top joint was orange peeled at the top and also contained a 2 hole on the side. A second string of rusted casing with no threads was situated 1 below the top of 8.56 casing and measured approximately 6 outside diameter. The well contained no visible leakage of fluids and natural gas was not detected with a meter. The well did not contain overhead obstructions but would require the removal of trees around the immediate area. The well was situated behind the residential dwelling at 4966 Reservoir Road, Lima, OH with limited access due to a line from a wood boiler on the west side of property buried 18 deep and electric and sewer lines on the east side property next to the driveway. The landowner states that the best entry would be the east side of property and directly off Reservoir Road, which would require tree removal. The landowner alleges that water drilled approximately 10 years contains a petroleum smell. A review of the orphan case file revealed a previous investigation into the alleged water well disruption. This case was sent to Kyle Baldwin for review.
