1540822598 | 2018-10-29 | Exempt Well Pre Transfer | No Violations | I conducted an exempt pre-transfer inspection on this well. The well was equipped with a pumping unit. The valve on the tubing was closed. The valve on the 4.5 inch casing was open. The 2 inch line off the 4.5 inch casing was reduced into two, 1 inch lines with multiple regulators. Both 1 inch domestic lines were open. The standing water around the 4.5 inch casing was bubbling. There was a slight gas leak around the tubing packing, and a faint odor of gas was detected. The tank battery consisted of two 100 BBL tanks and a mechanical separator. There was no chart box on the sales line and the 2 inch line on the separator was closed. There was no dike around the 100 BBL tanks or separator. No identification was present at the well or tank battery. Access to the well was stable. I contacted landowner, Thomas Bowen. Mr. Bowen stated that the well was servicing his home and his mothers home with gas for domestic purposes. Mr. Bowen also stated that his mothers home was not on the same parcel as the well. The tank battery equipment was not going to be removed, so I informed Mr. Bowen that a dike would need installed around the tanks and legible identification would need to be installed at the well location. |
