1388975466 | 2014-01-05 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I was on site to witness the cementing of the 13 3/8 inch surface casing. My inspection revealed that Patterson Rig # 261 had drilled a 17.5 inch hole to a total depth of 465 feet and ran 454 feet of 13 3/8 inch casing ( 54.5 pounds per foot / inside diameter 12.615 inches ). They installed bowspring centralizers on the casing string (joints 1,2,5,8). O-TEX cemented the casing with 400 sacks of Class H 2% CaCl, 0.4% C-41P, and 1/4 pound per sack celloflake. The cement had a density of 15.6 pounds per gallon, a yield of 1.2 cubic feet per sack, and they used 5.25 gallons of mix water per sack. They pumped 85 barrels of cement slurry, 64 barrels of displacement, and there was 15 barrels of cement returns to surface. They bumped the plug at 2:10pm with the calculated displacement. They landed the plug 200 PSI and then bumped the pressure up to 900 PSI to conduct the casing test. The casing test was approved. My inspection revealed no violations at this time. NOTE: They had trouble making the landing joint. |
1389155607 | 2014-01-08 | Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I was on site to witness the cementing of the 9 5/8 inch intermediate casing. My inspection revealed that Patterson Rig # 261 has drilled a 12 1/4 inch hole to a total depth of 1767 feet and ran 1752 feet of 9 5/8 inch intermediate casing (40 pounds per foot / inside diameter 8.830 inches). They installed 14 bowspring centralizers on the casing string; on joints 1,2,5,8,11,14,17,20,23,26,29,32,35, and 38. O-TEX cemented with 670 sacks of Class H 3% Gypsum, 2% CaCl, 0.8% MC500, 0.5% C-45, and 0.4% C-41P. The cement had a density of 15.6 pounds per gallon, a yield of 1.21 cubic feet per sack, and they used 5.2 gallons of mix water per sack. They pumped 144 barrels of cement slurry, 129 barrels of displacement, and there was 29 barrels of cement returns. They pumped 129 barrels of displacement (3 barrels over the calculated displacement of 126 barrels) and didnt bump the plug. They quit pumping at 01:05am with 600 PSI. They couldnt conduct the casing test since they didnt bump the plug, so they will conduct the casing test while conducting the BOP test. My inspection revealed no violations at this time. NOTE: Had trouble with getting the casing landed in the wellhead. They had to take the cement head off the landing joint so they could pickup the casing in the wellhead and try to land the casing again. They were also having trouble with lines freezing due to the extreme weather conditions. |
1487636276 | 2015-12-23 | Preliminary Restoration | No Violations | I was on location to conduct a preliminary restoration inspection. The well is open flow with a wellhead Christmas tree assembly. Jersey barriers were installed around the wellhead. The well is properly identified with a clear, legibly-marked well identification sign. The tank battery consisted of eight, 400 BBL production tanks and was diked. The tanks are located within a spray-lined and sealed secondary containment. There are e-stops outside the barriers, and the tanks are grounded, and have static dissipators. There is a truck grounding area for trucks collecting condensate and/or produced water. Lightning protection and a windsock are installed on top of the production tanks. Other production equipment on the well pad consisted of:
Jersey barriers are installed around the production equipment. The entire well pad is enclosed with a six-foot high, chain link fence with three-strand barbed wire and the man doors were locked. Along the interior of the chain link fence there is an earthen berm and it was stable. The soil stockpile is well-stabilized with vegetation. Drainage and erosion controls at the pad are in place and functioning. A closed-loop, above-ground drilling pit system was used, so there are no earthen pits requiring closure. The pad has a crushed limestone surface, and is in good repair. The lease road is stable and drivable. Preliminary restoration passed. |
