0861972466 | 2016-07-21 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that Corp Oilfield Services had stirred up the areas of oil stained soil on the outer wall of the dike and treated them with granulated lime. The oil stained soil along the lease road had also been treated with granulated lime. Correct, legible identification had been posted at the tank battery and wellhead. The oil soaked peat along the side of the road had been mostly scraped up and the entire area was covered in granulated lime. |
0982262057 | 2016-07-13 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the stuffing box leak had not been addressed and there was still oil soaked weeds and soil around the wellhead. This well shares a tank battery with permit 0770 and no identification had been posted at the wellhead yet. The oil stained soil in the lease road had not been treated or addressed in any way. I called Mike Corp, pumper for Northwood Energy to let him know what still needs to be done to bring this well into compliance. Mike claimed that they treated the soil in the lease road, but I could not see any improvement from the last inspection. I asked that he treat and mix the lime into the soil. |
1943198373 | 2016-06-15 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the well was equipped with a natural gas powered pumping unit. The fuel line and the drive belts were intact. The lines were connected at the wellhead and the polished rod showed signs of recent use. The tubing and casing valves were open. The casing valve had been leaking and there was some fresh oil and oil stained soil around the wellhead. There was no identification at the wellhead. There appeared to have been a leak in the flow line along the lease road. There was an approximate 30 foot area of moderately stained soil and fresh dozer tracks on the road. The tank battery consisted of two 100 barrel tanks and one 50 barrel tank. Identification was posted at the tank battery. There was freshly disturbed soil on the entrance to the tank battery, the parking area and the lower side of the dike. There was 10 to 12 foot area of dark oil stained soil on the lower outside of the dike wall, and multiple spots of light staining throughout the entrance and parking area below the dike. Most of the soil inside of the dike was heavily oil stained. One end had been excavated down 24 to 30 inches, and there was peat and absorbent material spread throughout the inside of the dike. The tank battery is shared with permit 0770. I contacted Bill Arnholt of Northwood Energy who claimed that the spill was a result of the tank for permit 0770. I spoke with Pumper Mike Corp and told him to clean up the oil around the wellhead, post ID at the wellhead and treat the stained soil in the lease road with lime and fertilizer. The tank battery and spill clean-up will be addressed under permit 0770. |
