1484065756 | 2017-01-09 | Non Well | No Violations | I received a phone call from Sam Troyer in regards to steel and plastic flow lines that he had discovered on a recently purchased property. Mr. Troyer requested my assistance in determining the status of the lines. On the day of my inspection I found one 2 inch riser with a closed ball valve that extended two feet above the surface. The riser appeared to be connected to buried 2 inch steel line. I also found 1.5 inch orange plastic line that was attached to a 1 inch steel connector. The plastic line was running in the direction of the home on the property. I reviewed the area for nearby producing wells and found two wells, one to the east and one to the west of the property. They were both operated by Dugan Oil and Gas. I called Barry Dugan and he said that he did not have any flow line running between this wells. He said that they only had lines running to their respective tank batteries. I created a map of plugged wells within one quarter mile of the property. I found that the Hupp 1 had been located 200 feet from the lines in question. I walked back to the site where the Hupp 1 coordinates were plotting and found physical signs of an old access road. I also found some old drilling line, and a depression that resembled an old drilling pit. I found no exposed casing or signs of a leaking plugged well. Based on the configuration of the access roads and the location of the remaining lines I have good reason to believe that the flow lines were part of the production equipment for this well. The well was plugged in 1968 and the Shrider Co. has been inactive since 1991. |
