1515688819 | 2018-01-11 | Field Inspected, Well Not Found | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found an old abandoned lease road that led straight back to the well location GPS coordinates stored in RBDMS. The lease road terminated into a large flat area that is indicative of an oil/gas well site. I found a pile of old drilling cable along the perimeter of the presumed well site, and I found a 20 foot section of 2.5 inch diameter steel flow line. I searched the area extensively and I did not find any exposed wellhead components or well casing. The ground was covered with leaf litter, but I did not find any visual signs that there was a leaking plugged well in the area. I also did not detect the odor of hydrocarbons, and there were no signs of stressed vegetation. There are no records of a plugging permit being applied for or issued, and there are no plugging records for this well. |
1539963328 | 2018-10-19 | Field Inspected, Well Not Found | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I attempted to locate the well with the assistance of DOGRM Surveyor Tom Smith. We found the old lease road and well site. The site was graded flat on the side of a slope and was of similar length and width to a typical conventional well site in Coshocton County Ohio. I found various lengths of 1 inch diameter, black plastic gas line in the forested area around the perceived well site. I also found 2 inch diameter steel flow line that extended into the forest 200 feet from a gate valve. The line extended from the other side of the gate valve to a configuration that would commonly be used for production tanks. There were piles of old drilling line laying over the side of the hill from the well site. Tom Smith and I searched the area extensively with a magnetic metal detector for signs of cut, capped and buried well casing, but we found nothing. Tom located the property pins and followed the distance and direction recorded for the well location. It still plotted in the open area that we perceived as a well site. No plugging permit has ever been issued for this well and I found no records of the well being plugged. |
