1550778277 2019-02-21 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I found the location of the production tanks, based off the previous Coshocton County inspectors GPS coordinates. He did not enter wellhead coordinates, but he did make mention of the well being in different location than what was represented in RBDMS. The property was gated and fenced with barbed wire. I will attempt to contact the landowners to gain access, and request the assistance of the DOGRM surveyor to locate the well.
1551197143 2019-02-26 Production Wells No Violations This well is located approximately 1 mile north of the location stored in RBDMS. I was accompanied by surveyor Tom Smith to record the correct location. On the day of my inspection I found that the entrance to the access road was overgrown, and there were no signs of recent use. There was also a large tree down across the road a couple hundred feet back onto the property. The rest of the access road was clear and passable, but there were no signs of recent vehicle traffic. The well was equipped with a natural gas powered pumping unit. The engine, drive belts and fuel line were intact. The flow lines were connected at the wellhead and the tubing valve to the flow line was open. The gauge on the tubing head was old and rusted, but it did show 100 pounds. The casing valve to the fuel line was closed. There was a propane tank plumbed into the fuel line, and the main line was cracked. The entire pumping unit was overgrown with vegetation, and the moving parts were entwined with woody vines. There was also a sapling tree growing up next to the flywheel on the engine. The stuffing box and polished rod were dry. There were no gas or fluid leaks at the wellhead. The lease name and permit number were written on the side of the unit. It was faded but still legible. The steel flow line ran from the wellhead, along the access road to the tanks at the entrance. The production equipment consisted of one 100 barrel steel tank, one vertical separator and two 30 barrel poly tanks. The site was surrounded with thick vegetation, and the dike was holding water in one end. The 100 barrel tank was empty, but it had leaked from the heater tube at one time. There was a 3 foot diameter area of oil stained soil under the heater tube opening. One of the poly tanks was cracked open on the top, but I found no evidence of leaking in the surrounding soil. The production reports are up to date, but there has never been one barrel of oil or one cubic foot of gas reported over the course of the wells
