0467818510 2015-09-15 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I found that the stockpile of contaminated soil had been removed from inside of the dike. The area next to the road had been graded, seeded and covered in straw. This violation is resolved.
1440167525 2015-08-21 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I met with Jim Dunfee at the well site. The 100 barrel brine tank was empty. Randy Moran winched the tank onto the back of a truck. We found a hole in the bottom of the tank and discolored soil where fluid had been leaking. I walked the site with Dunfee in order to point out all of the areas that need to be excavated. I also requested that they provide notification when they were going to start the excavation.
1650715210 2015-08-20 Production Wells Violations Noted On the day of my inspection I found that the wellhead was equipped with a pumping unit. The stuffing box was leaking and the wellhead was covered in oil/paraffin sludge. The tank battery consisted of two 100 barrel tanks, one separator and an earthen dike. One tank was flipped on its side. Inside of the dike I found standing water and muddy soil with a reddish hue. The mud was tracked by deer. There was also a 100 barrel tank outside of the dike next to the road. I noticed discolored soil under the drain valve at the base of the tank next to the road. The discolored soil trailed into a roadside ditch. I found no standing water in the ditch. I collected a sample of soil from the ditch, mixed it with dH2O and tested it for chlorides with a low range Quantab test strip. The chloride level was off the scale so I tested with a high range strip. The chlorides in the soil were at 1826 ppm (parts per million). I also tested the water draining out of the culvert on the opposite side of the road and found the level to be below 31 ppm. Finally, I tested a sample of the standing water inside the dike and found the chloride level to be off the scale of the high range Quantab, therefore greater than or equal to 6627 ppm. I called Jim Dunfee, well tender for G&S Oil & Gas. He arranged a water truck to empty the tank and agreed to meet me at the site on 8/21/15. Wilsons Water Hauling (UIC 25-628) arrived at 13:19 to empty the tank. The brine tank must be removed, the wellhead must be cleaned, and all of the contaminated soil inside the dike, and the soil under and around the brine tank must be removed.
1854490071 2015-09-03 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I found that the wellhead had been cleaned up. The contaminated soil by the road had been scraped up and removed. The soil inside of the dike had also been scraped up and staged in a pile inside the dike. I contacted Jim Dunfee, he claimed that they were still working on the dike and they would remove all of the soil by the first of next week.
