1325804902 | 2016-03-24 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the oily residue had been cleaned off of the wellhead and related components. The contaminated soil around the wellhead and under the engine had been removed. Both areas had been treated with lime, peat and fertilizer. New gravel had been spread over the areas. The requirements have been met to bring this well into compliance. |
1456236524 | 2016-02-22 | Production Wells | Violations Noted | This inspection was conducted in response to a complaint of alleged pollution and contamination. I was joined by SE Regional Supervisor Brent Bear and NE Regional Emergency Operations Manager Terry Whitehair. On the day of our inspection we found that the well was being produced with a natural gas powered pumping unit. There was standing crude oil and contaminated soil in a 4 to 5 foot diameter around the wellhead. There were no visible leaks from the stuffing box. The surface casing head was buried and not visible. The source of the leak could potentially be underground. The tank battery consisted of one 100 barrel steel tank and one horizontal separator. There was a minimal earthen dike in place around the production equipment. Identification was posted at the tank battery. The issues needing addressed at this well to bring it into compliance include: identifying and repairing the source of the leak at the wellhead, removing and properly disposing of the impacted soil around the wellhead. |
1519788332 | 2016-03-22 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the standing crude oil and oil contaminated soil around the wellhead had been dug up and removed. The wellhead components were still covered in an oily residue. Mark said that they still needed to clean the wellhead, but the actual leak was a result of changing a fitting on the flow line. I did not see any active leaks at the wellhead. The oil stained soil under the engine on the pumping unit had also been dug up and removed. The old ID sign on the separator had been painted over. The identification sign on the tank was complete and legible. |
