There were no leaks or spills and proper identification was posted. No violations at this time. |

1731662906 | 2017-02-02 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the well was being produced with an electric powered pumping unit. The motor, drive belts and electric were intact. The flow lines were connected and the valves were open. The unit was in operation at the time of my inspection. There was a 6 foot by 20 foot dike around the wellhead, as the well is located next to a man made pond. I found no leaks or spills at the wellhead. The tank battery consisted of two 100 barrel steel tanks and one 30 barrel poly tank inside of an earthen dike. Correct, legible identification was posted and I found no leaks or spills. |
1866818207 | 2017-05-16 | Production Wells | No Violations | I got a call from Rob McMasters with the Coshocton County EMA to report a gas leak from a buried line in an agricultural field. He said that he was notified by Wen-Mar Farms, as they discovered the leak when they were planting the field. Rob said that there was no oil on the ground. He told me where he was located and I pulled up the nearby wells on my Topo 9.0 map.. I found that the closest wells belonged to MFC Drilling. I gave Rob the info and he called MFC. Rob called back and said that Nick Hahn has just arrived to tend to the situation. I spoke with Nick and he said that it was a 2 inch transmission line that ran between the number 1 and 2 wells. Nick said that he shut both wells in and he shut in the master meter. He said that they would keep everything shut in until they could get to the repair. |
1960237017 | 2017-06-01 | Production Wells | No Violations | The purpose of my inspection was to follow up on a report of a gas leak in a 2 inch diameter steel line that runs between permits 6587 and 6589. I was initially told by Nick Hahn with MFC that they would shut the wells in until they could make the repair. On the day of my inspection I found that all of the valves at the wellhead were shut. The soil around the wellhead was darkly stained with crude oil and peat moss. There was no fresh standing oil and there were no current leaks from the wellhead components. I spoke with Nick Hahn to request that they clean up the oil stained soil around the wellhead. I contacted Rob McMasters with the Coshocton Co. EMA and he came out to show me where the actual leak was discovered. The location of the leak was in a low lying wet area and it was marked with surveyor flags. There was no oil on the ground and I found no sheen in the standing water. There was no gas bubbling from the ground. Nick said that the line that leaked was actually a 4 inch diameter sales line that runs east from the Hackenbracht wells to a master meter located near the Beck wells. He said that the line is buried 3 to 4 feet deep and it will require a track-hoe to make the repair. The field has been planted and the crops are growing. Nick said that they may wait until late fall to make the repair, unless they get approval from Wendell Waters to drive equipment in through the field. He said that they will keep the wells shut in until they can make the repair. |
