0542086425 | 2018-01-30 | Production Wells | Violations Noted | On the day of my inspection I found that the well was equipped with a natural gas powered pumping unit. The engine, drive belts and fuel line were intact. The flow lines were connected at the wellhead and the valves were open. There were no leaks around the wellhead. The production equipment consisted of two 100 barrel steel tanks and one horizontal separator in a shallow earthen dike. Correct, legible identification was posted and there were no leaks or spills around the tanks. There was a drainage ditch cut into the side of the dike nearest to the storage tanks. The water laying in the ditch below the dike was frozen and there were no obvious signs of brine stress in the surrounding vegetation. However, the hole in the dike wall must be repaired, as the tanks are located approximately 50 feet from a perennial stream that runs directly to the Tuscarawas River. A dike drain can be used and must be securely equipped with a cap. |
0674835832 | 2018-02-14 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that no work had been done to repair the opening in the containment dike. There were no fluids leaking around the tanks and I found no evidence of crude oil or brine water outside of the dike. |
1069437958 | 2018-02-21 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that nothing had been done to repair the containment dike. I called Dale Smith, the field supervisor for Diversified, who allegedly owns the well now. When I call the Coshocton office number for NGO it goes straight to a recording for Diversified. I left a message for Dale about getting the dike repaired. He returned my call and said that he would be out on Friday to assess the situation and get it taken care of then. He said that he would call me as soon as it was done. |
1518190181 | 2018-02-09 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that nothing had been done to repair the dike wall. There was heavy snow cover on the ground and there were no vehicle or foot tracks back to the well or tanks. |
1519919112 | 2018-03-01 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the dike had been repaired and reinforced. There was one PVC dike drain in place that was secured with a cap. The compliance notice is resolved |
