0441086324 2016-10-11 Production Wells Violations Noted On the day of my inspection I found that the well was being produced with a natural gas powered pumping unit. The engine and drive belts were intact. The flow lines were connected and the valves were open. I found no leaks around the wellhead or pumping unit. The tank battery consisted of two 100 barrel steel tanks and one vertical separator. There was no containment dike around the production equipment. Identification was posted on one of the tanks. The separator was leaking from the bottom. There was an area approximately 6 feet in diameter around the base of the separator that was saturated with crude oil. There were also salt crystals present from evaporated brine water. There was a wash-out ditch near the separator that extended approximately 50 feet downhill. The upper half of the ditch was heavily stained with oil and brine. The lower portion of the ditch was free of staining. I did not find any staining in the flat area at the bottom of the hill, and the area was covered in live vegetation. The actions needed to bring this well into compliance are: (1) Repair the leak at the separator; (2) Excavate and remove all contaminated soil from around the separator and the ditch; (3) Eliminate the ditch to prevent future run-off and erosion. It is also recommended that an earthen dike be constructed around the production equipment.

0620377876 2016-11-01 Production Wells No Violations On the day of my inspection I found that the separator had been removed from the well site. The contaminated soil around the base of the separator had been removed. The contaminated soil at the head of the erosion ditch had also been removed. The ditch had been filled in with new soil. There was also a newly constructed earthen dike around the two 100 barrel steel tanks. I found no new leaks and no remaining crude oil in the soil. This violation is resolved.
