At the time of my visit, crews were attempting to locate the suspected orphan well utilizing a field survey with flame ionization detector (FID) and temporary punch-bar locations. No significant gas had been detected in any of the punch bar locations, and the location of the well remained uncertain. |

The well is located behind the single-family residence at the referenced address. Visible elements at the surface consist of a 3-inch diameter steel vent stack structure (painted brown at the time of this inspection). The top of the vent stack is 12-15 feet above grade. The vent stack is stable. There is some observed dead grass around the base of the vent stack. The vent is within 10 feet of a wooden patio deck structure. Otherwise, areas surrounding the vent consist of grassy yard. There is no detectable gas readings at the time of this inspection. I did observe an occasional gas odor. |
