0876628593 | 2015-09-14 | Orphan | No Violations | I inspected this well location pursuant to a complaint registered by the current homeowner (Complaint #5121). Reportedly, the homeowner was dismantling an old, rusty flag pole in the front yard, and uncovered what is suspected to be a vent for a well. The well vent is comprised of a 3-inch diameter riser, which terminates 6 inches above grade. Installed concentrically within the annulus is a 2-inch diameter open riser pipe which roughly terminates several inches above the 3-inch riser. I detected readings ranging from 20 to 80% LEL near the vent opening, along with audible gas bubbling sounds. The grass area around the well does not exhibit any signs of impact or stress. |
