1138550357 2018-04-09 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well location pursuant to a complaint (#5796). The well was discovered during on-going site development activity. On my inspection, I found the following: a 6-inch diameter casing riser protruding several inches above the surrounding grade. The casing was open to atmosphere with no notable gas at the level of the culvert pipe that had been installed around the casing as protection. I dropped a rock into the open casing top and determined the well bore was open to at least 300 feet. Reportedly, there had been a vent riser at the well, that was knocked off during earth-moving activity. I advised the site superintendent to protect the well casing and prevent objects from entering the casing pending final disposition. Reportedly, the well will not be within the footprint of the new construction, and will be 20 to 30 feet away.
