Well located in brick lined sump. 7 inch casing is heavily rusted away. 5 inch casing rusted no well head. Two inch tubing runs to base of well. Moderate odors are present at well head . And can be noticed in yard. Well should be plugged. Photos collected.
1227105828 2008-11-19 Production Wells No Violations Inspect well. Use four gas meter to detect for LEL, O2, and H2S. No detectable readings were observed during the inspection. Seven inch casing and 5 inch casing are significantly deteriorated. Ran weighted line between 5 inch casing and tubing; stopped about 120 feet below grade. Odors continue to emanate from well head. Well was blown down and line used to measure depth of well. well is about 200 feet deep. And, appears to be loaded with oil. This well is an Ohio Shale gas well. The odors are nuisance odors, and should pose limited health risk. Plugging of the well is recommended to eliminate the odors and protect the fresh water zones.
