1516993248 | 2018-01-08 | Production Wells | No Violations | At the time of this inspection, the well was equipped with a pumpjack and the annulus and flow line valves were open. The production records for this well were current. The tank battery consisted of one 210 BBL production tank, one 50 BBL poly brine tank and a mechanical separator. Valves on the separator were open and the chart showed production. The tank battery was diked with legible signage. The lease access was stable. No violations observed. |
1535549089 | 2018-08-29 | Production Wells | Violations Noted | I received a call from Scott King, DOGRM Emergency Operations Manager regarding a release of oil at this well location. At the time of this inspection, I was on location with Enervest well tender Joe Phillips. The well was equipped with a pumping unit and the stuffing box on that unit fatigued, releasing oil onto the well location. The quantity of oil released was approximately 2 to 3 BBLs. The oil was located on the lease access within the tire ruts and in front of the pumping unit. The area of impact in front of the well was approximately 9X12 foot. There was no impact to adjacent waterways or existing crops on the west side of the well. Enervest had a vac truck on location removing the free oil from the lease access ruts. I spoke with Kyle Ahbel, field supervisor with Enervest regarding the cleanup plan. Mr. Ahbel stated that the free oil would be removed and also any impacted soil would be removed, and taken offsite to be disposed of properly.
Enervest needs to: 1) Remove any existing free oil 2) Remove any impacted soil from around the wellhead and adjacent impacted area on the lease access 3) Dispose of the impacted soil properly |
1535722621 | 2018-08-31 | Production Wells | No Violations | I conducted a compliance notice follow-up for compliance notice 1535549089. The stuffing box on the pumping unit has been repaired and the leak remedied on the well. The well site location that had been impacted due to the stuffing box leak by oil, has been scraped and cleaned up. The impacted soil that was removed had been stockpiled and covered with plastic. That impacted, plastic covered soil was still on site, and located at the north side of the tank battery. Two sumps had been excavated along the west side of the tank battery dike to catch any residual oil after the initial removal of soil. Standing water was observed within the sumps. Absorbant pads were on top of the water within the sumps and residual oil could be seen on top of the standing water. I contacted Kyle Ahbel of Enervest to discuss removal of impacted soil from the site and any leftover cleanup needed regarding removal of the residual oil and water within the sumps. Mr. Ahbel stated that the stockpiled soil would be removed during the week of September 3rd, 2018, and that the sumps would continue to be monitored for any other residual oil. Mr. Ahbel also stated that the present water and oil within the sumps would be removed. |
1536765343 | 2018-09-12 | Production Wells | No Violations | I conducted a compliance notice follow-up for compliance notice 1535549089. At the time of this inspection, the stockpiled oil saturated soil was removed from the site. The sumps that had been installed on the site were removed and graded out with new soil and stone. New soil and stone had been installed along the lease access where it had previously been impacted by the release. A partial dike has been installed on the north side of the pumping unit. Pockets of residual oil had accumulated near the pumping unit, where previous excavation of soil had occurred. I contacted well tender, Joe Phillips from Enervest about the residual oil. Mr. Phillips arrived on site with absorbant pads and booms. The absorbant pads and booms were installed on site to absorb the residual oil on site. Reinspections will continue until the residual oil has all been removed. |
1537794741 | 2018-09-24 | Production Wells | No Violations | I conducted a compliance notice follow-up for compliance notice 1535549089. At the time of this inspection, the pockets of residual oil on the southeast corner of the pumping unit, have been cleaned up. No free product at the pumping unit location was observed. The previous area of impacted soil and stone has been replaced with new soil and stone. Compliance notice closed. |
